What is the ominous harbinger of lower back pain? Gallbladder Pain
80% of the Community suffer lower back pain at some point in their lives. Especially in adults, the risk of lower back pain increases from the age of 30. However, research shows that patients who suffer from low back pain immediately refer to the physician in the first pain, but no longer pay a visit to the physician in the second pain.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kıral, Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist at Anatolian Health Center, says that 90 percent of lower back pain is muscle-initiated pain called mechanical lower back pain but emphasizes that those with internal organ diseases, those who have recently undergone surgery and those with a history of cancer should take lower back pain seriously.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kıral points out that patients do not consult a physician for recurrent low back pain after some knowledge and go through this process without treatment. He also states that if the pain prevents those with lower back pain from moving, sleeping or wakes them up at night, it should surely be taken into account. Especially if there is fever, chills, weight loss or infection along with pain, if we yell or change in bladder function, if numbness, tingling or weakness is felt and if the patient has a history of cancer, the doctor should be consulted no later than two months after the start of the pain”.
According to Prof. Dr. Kıral, anyone over the age of 30 or who have arthritis, or osteoporosis (bone loss), menopausal women, pregnant women and new mothers and those with health problems such as diabetes and hypertension or cancer, smokers, the ones who underwent surgical operation recently, infections those who are open to individuals who are more genetically prone to develop low back problems and there is the risk of low back pain.
Lower back pain should be treated by a multidisciplinary team.
Lower back pain may not only occur due to reasons related to the lumbar region, but also an aortic aneurysm in the abdomen, kidney stones and gallbladder, problems in the pancreas or liver, and hip joint or joint diseases. Prof. Dr. Kıral stresses that diseases in the internal organs can also indicate lower back pain, and that it is still a matter of debate which specialty should be applied to people suffering from lower back pain. In his own words, “Lower back pain should be treated by a multidisciplinary team, not by a single specialist. The spine treatment groups created for this purpose in Europe and America include orthopedists, neurosurgeons, physical therapists, algologists and chiropractors. In our country, especially the treatment of spine fractures, all spine interventions are performed by orthopedic spine surgeons. Diseases such as scoliosis and kyphosis that occur with spinal deformity and spinal fractures are also successfully treated in spinal treatment centers”.
