This hollow organ nestles in concave cavity that is can be found on the outer part of the liver. This part is identified to be gallbladder fossa. The organ is separated to three divisions they are the neck, body and fundus. Gallbladder is considered to be a non vital limb that helps in digestion. An individual can still live even though he or she does not have a gallbladder. However, if this is the case, qualify of life might also be affected. Even if it is considered to be a not vital organ, still it is necessary to know the gallbladder function to know the aid of it in one’s body.

First and foremost, the gallbladder function is to keep and concentrate bile. The bile is the digestive liquid that is secreted towards the liver. This liquid is a vital digestive fluid because it has bile acids and anions. The bile serves as a surfactant. It helps in emulsifying fats in the ingested food. The bile anions ha a hydrophobic and hydrophilic side that collect around droplets of phsopholipids and triglycerides to generate micelles. The diffusion of fats and the formation of micelles give and hugely increase the area for the performance of enzyme pancreatic lipase. This is the enzyme that is responsible in digesting triglycerides. Not having these bile slats, the tendency is that the lipid that can be found within the indigested food will pass towards the feces undigested. The bile is kept in the gallbladder in between meals and after eating it will be discharge to the duodenum. As soon the food arrives at the intestine, then the process of digestion starts. This is basically the gallbladder function inside the body.

There are circumstances that the gallbladder function is identified to be abnormal. This happens once there are gallbladder diseases that results to gallbladder functioning issues. There are different types of diseases that can definitely influence the function of the gallbladder that might result to gallbladder problems. This might happen because of the accumulation of toxic bile in the liver, obstruction in bile duct, slow flow of bile, infection of the gallbladder lining and many others. The gallbladder symptoms that are associated in this are strange sensation of fullness after eating, hurt at the right part of the abdominal, nausea, chills, too much opening of stool, fever and many others. The hurt that may be experience is somehow severe, particularly if the condition is gallstones. The disease is can be diagnosed through having test for gallbladder function.

Though gallbladder is identified to be a non vital organ still it is essential to keep it healthy. This is because once it will be affected by any gallbladder diseases it will still causes pain and might infect other organs of the body that may result for pain to get bad.
