Gallbladder Diet
Many people think the gallbladder is an insignificant and dispensable organ. While it is true that you can survive without your gallbladder, once it is removed, your body must work harder to digest fats and remove cholesterol from the body. Having your gallbladder removed because you have been eating too much saturated fat and cholesterol (which creates gallstones) is like removing the engine from your car because you have been using the worng kind of gas. The ten day gallbladder detox gives your gallbladder the fuel it needs to restore balance and prevent gallstones.
The gallbladder is a small hollow, pear shaped organ that stores and concentrates bile an essential liquid for digestion. Bile, which is continually secreted by the liver and stored in the gallbladder, emulsifies fats and neutralizes the acids in foods that are partly digested.
When you consume too much saturated fat, substances in bile crystalize in the gallbladder and form gallstones, or small hard substances that may be as small as grain of sand or as large as golf ball, called gallstones. Your liver and gallbladder were designed to work together to digest fats. When your gallbladder is removed, your liver must work harder to digest fats. If you continue eat a diet high in saturated fats and low in fiber, you may have a higher risk of developing heart disease and stroke.
Cleanse your gallbladder by going on a vegetarian or vegan diet to reduce your intake of cholesterol.
Drink at least eight glasses of water a day to facilitate digestion and dilute toxic substances in food.
Substitute heart healthy plant based oils like canola oil, olive oil and sesame oil for butter, which contains saturated fat and cholesterol and margarine which contain dangerous trans fats.
Replace fatty meats like burgers and steak with cold water fish that is high in omega 3 fatty acids, including tuna, herring, mackerel, trout, and halibut.
Eliminate processed and refined foods from your diet. They are high in saturated fats, trans fats, and cholesterol.
Consume cleansing vegetable juices made from beets, beet greens, cucumbers celery and carrots.
Eat plenty of fresh garlic, which has a cleansing effect on the liver.
Drink lemon diluted with warm water in the morning to help cleanse the gallbladder.
Eat cruciferous veggies, including cabbage, kale, brussels sprouts, and broccoli. They are high in fiber and help cleanse the gallbladder by promoting regularity.
Consume eggs in moderation. Consume too many eggs may aggravate gallbladder disease.
Do not avoid fats entirely. Fat free and low fat diets can also cause gallstones, so consume heart healthy oils in moderation.
As well as cleansing your gallbladder , this diet will help you lower your LDL bad cholesterol, lose weight, and reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.
