The Most Common Gallbladder Removal Side Effects

Gall bladder is a very vital component of the human body. It is an organ which is directly related to the digestive system of the body and plays a key role in digesting all the food that we intake. Also, it has a significant role in concentrating the bitter fluid produced by the liver known as bile, which helps in breaking down the food chunks into smaller esculent molecules. Like all other parts of the body, the gallbladder can also falter viciously if proper dietary measures are not undertaken. The result is that people have to be deprived of their gallbladder entirely as a result of a surgical operation.

Although life does not impede after the gallbladder removal, however things certainly become relatively tough for the person who is deprived of his/her gallbladder and they have to be ultra-cautious with their food consumption habits from thereon. Moreover, once removed from the body, there are numerous gallbladder removal side effects which are confronted by the person who has undergone the operation. Here we shall discuss some of the most commonly reported gallbladder removal side effects.

Amongst the most frequently reported side effects after gallbladder removal, diarrhea and weight loss are probably on the top of the list. All the people who agree on these particular gallbladder problems were also found complaining about severe pain in their pack, head and stomach as a result of the operation. Furthermore, there have been numerous observed cases of such people feeling a need to go to bathroom as soon as they ate something. Once the gallbladder is removed, the digestive system is literally devoid of any organ that could break down the food particles in such a manner that makes it difficult to make the intestines work accordingly. The result is that either the food is passed onto the intestines without being worn down at all or it just gets stuck into the intestine if not swallowed properly.

Most people have also complained notoriously about feeling bowel development and swelling in their abdomen region. Again, the reason behind this particular complain stems from the fact that the large food particles, that would have been fragmented down by the gallbladder along with the support of bile, remain in a solid form and cannot pass through the intestines. The end result is swelling and bowel formation which surely serves as a painful cause for the sufferer.

Although there have been some success in remedying the problem of diarrhea through the extensive use of cholestyramine, however there have to be some serious long term advances in medicating the problem entirely. The patients are often recommended to join a weight control program to keep their body muscles (especially their abdominal tissues) intact and healthy. Apart from these exercises, there are several extremely effective medicines against bowels and constipation that could be taken as per medical expert prescription. Living through these side effects is perhaps the only way for the sufferer to bear this problem once they have lost their gallbladder.

Vital Lessons On Gallbladder Sludge

It is a medical condition which is common all over the world and earlier doctors did not know how to deal with patients with complications associated with gallbladder sludge. By definition, it is a mixture of microscopic solid particles which accumulate in the gallbladder as a result of precipitation of solid particles from the bile. The gallbladder is an organ located between the lobes of the liver. It is actually a sac which stores bile produced by the liver and it is used in the small intestines for processing fats and other related food substances.

The substance is formed from the combination of calcium products or salts with cholesterol. When this reaction occurs it forms the solid particles which then precipitate from bile to form sludge. This reaction occurs mostly when the bile stays in the gallbladder for a long time without being used in the small intestines. For instance, the people who go fasting for a long period may underutilise the bile and the probability of getting this complication is high. Other causes may be taking low content of fats or other practices in order to lose weight rapidly. When this weight is lost this condition may prevail. Doctors have also pointed out that some medical practices may lead to gallbladder problems. Other causes are like drug abuse and alcohol consumption, high level of blood cholesterol and also experienced during pregnancy.

The common symptoms for this medical condition are very normal to some people hence they may end up not realising so that they can get an early medical treatment. These symptoms are like nausea which is accompanied by vomiting, vomiting on its own is also a symptom and the most serious one is the abdominal pains.

The medical treatment for this condition is a bit tempting because it has been a threat to doctors in the recent past. It requires a highly qualified medical doctor to examine and detect the sludge. It can only be examined using the ultrasound technology if not testing the bile gallbladder in the lab to establish the sludge generating substances in the contents of the bile. Some doctors argue that when given time with proper nutrition, sludge can disappear on its own. They argue that it dissolves due to the acidic condition of the bile.

With proper nutrition, we can do away with this gallbladder dilemma which most of the people do not recognise as a medical condition. The patients should ensure that they consume plenty of chlorophyll pigment which can be gotten from green vegetables like kale and spinach. Chlorophyll is helpful because it cleanses the blood. Fibre is important for the patients; actually the patient should consume a high content of fibre everyday in order to get best results. Some diets like vegetables and fruits contain fibre for that matter. Take plenty of water daily because it will dilute the bile contents straight from the liver and also make the sludge to dissolve.

There are advanced symptoms or effects of gallbladder sludge. It is that it will lead to gallstones which cause the inflammation of the gallbladder. The advanced medical treatment for gallstones is just by surgical removal of the entire gallbladder.

Knowing The Gallbladder Function

Gallbladder is a tiny organ that is located at the abdominal cavity. This organ is also called as cholecyst. This hollow organ nestles in concave cavity that is can be found on the outer part of the liver. This part is identified to be gallbladder fossa. The organ is separated to three divisions they are the neck, body and fundus. Gallbladder is considered to be a non vital limb that helps in digestion. An individual can still live even though he or she does not have a gallbladder. However, if this is the case, qualify of life might also be affected. Even if it is considered to be a not vital organ, still it is necessary to know the gallbladder function to know the aid of it in one’s body.

First and foremost, the gallbladder function is to keep and concentrate bile. The bile is the digestive liquid that is secreted towards the liver. This liquid is a vital digestive fluid because it has bile acids and anions. The bile serves as a surfactant. It helps in emulsifying fats in the ingested food. The bile anions ha a hydrophobic and hydrophilic side that collect around droplets of phsopholipids and triglycerides to generate micelles. The diffusion of fats and the formation of micelles give and hugely increase the area for the performance of enzyme pancreatic lipase. This is the enzyme that is responsible in digesting triglycerides. Not having these bile slats, the tendency is that the lipid that can be found within the indigested food will pass towards the feces undigested. The bile is kept in the gallbladder in between meals and after eating it will be discharge to the duodenum. As soon the food arrives at the intestine, then the process of digestion starts. This is basically the gallbladder function inside the body.

There are circumstances that the gallbladder function is identified to be abnormal. This happens once there are gallbladder diseases that results to gallbladder functioning issues. There are different types of diseases that can definitely influence the function of the gallbladder that might result to gallbladder problems. This might happen because of the accumulation of toxic bile in the liver, obstruction in bile duct, slow flow of bile, infection of the gallbladder lining and many others. The gallbladder symptoms that are associated in this are strange sensation of fullness after eating, hurt at the right part of the abdominal, nausea, chills, too much opening of stool, fever and many others. The hurt that may be experience is somehow severe, particularly if the condition is gallstones. The disease is can be diagnosed through having test for gallbladder function.

Though gallbladder is identified to be a non vital organ still it is essential to keep it healthy. This is because once it will be affected by any gallbladder diseases it will still causes pain and might infect other organs of the body that may result for pain to get bad. It you feel pain in your gallbladder, better consult your physician immediately to do test to diagnose and cure the disease and prevent it from becoming worse.

Even though we only use about 1/6 th of the liver´s capacity at one time, it is an organ that needs both our attention and our assistance. As mentioned, the liver produces bile, which helps to emulsify fats and oils in the digestive system and even helps us to absorb calcium. The liver also uses bile as a means to lubricate the intestine and eliminate toxins and poisons from the body. When too many toxins overload the intestines it also backs up and affects the liver and gallbladder.

Bile becomes thick and toxic to the point where it is adversely affects the digestive process and can interfere with many other functions of the liver. The liver itself can become toxic through the use of drugs, medications, alcohol and from pollution, toxic chemicals, toxic metals, the numerous additives and preservatives in our food and water, and environmental poisons such as pesticides and herbicides. Toxins usually have a cumulative effect on the liver and continue to build up over a period of years.

Another function of the liver is to break down and recycle used hormones in the body, and as a result, the liver is a great regulator and balancer for hormone activity. The liver also contributes to the balance our blood sugar levels, the clotting of blood, water retention, fluid balance, and utilization of the oil soluble vitamins A, D, E and K symptoms of liver and gallbladder problems may include fatigue, loss of appetite, a constant feeling of fullness, digestive problems, a wide variety of skin problems and constipation.

Cleaning the liver and gallbladder is most effectively accomplished by using the gallbladder cleanse and the Liver flush on two different occasions. The gallbladder cleanse and the Liver flush are best utilized during the spring, summer, or fall seasons, but they can be used sparingly during the winter months, depending on your location and life circumstances. The gallbladder cleanse cleans the storage tank and the bile ducts of sludge and gallstones, and it improves drainage of bile and toxic wasters from normal liver activity. The Liver flush fluhes out toxins and stored chemicals, drugs, waste products and stones that build up inside the liver as a result of living and eating on planet Earth in this highly toxic environment. The gallbladder cleanse and Liver flush give our digestive system a well deserved rest, and can be used on a semi annual or annual basis.

The structural relationship associated with the liver and gallbladder centers around the fourth and fifth thoracic vertebrates, which is an area located between the shoulder blades. If misalignments occur in this area, it can interfere with any number of liver or gallbladder functions. Any aberration in liver or gallbladder function can effect millions of interdependent functions throughout the body. The gallbladder cleanse is not for the faint of heart, but it is safe and highly effective.

When cleansing the liver and gallbladder, it is important to begin by opening the bile ducts associated with the gallbladder attacks. For this reason, before starting any cleanse this article recommend the gallbladder cleanse.

The two most common malignancies of the biliary tree are adenocarcinoma of the gallbladder problems and of the bile duct. Although there is some overlap in the diagnosis and treatment of these two cancers, they are distinct enough to require separate discussions. Carcinoma of the gallbladder, which we consider first, is a rare form of cancer and as such has a distinct etiology, pathophsiology, clinical presentation, and treatment. In most patients, the disease is not suspected clinically and is found at an advanced stage, often during gallbaldder surgery for cholelithiasis.

Although gallbladder cancer is a rare form of cancer, it is most common malignancy of the biliary tract and the fifth most common cancer of the gastrointestinal tract. Women develop gallbladder cancer five times more often than men, similar to the incidence of gallstones. Studies have also shown that female sex, age, postmenopausal status and cigarette smoking are risk factors. Other studies have identified overweight and obesity as significant risk factors. Gallbladder cancer is rare in individuals under age 50, with most cases occurring among those in their late 60s and early 70s.

Several factors are associated with an increased risk for gallbladder cancer. Gallstones are the most common etiologic factor, probably due to their high prevalence in the general population. More than 90 percent of individuals with gallbladder cancer have coexistent chorionic cholecystitis and cholelithiasis. Gallbladder cancer is more likely to occur in individuals with a single large gallstone than in those with multiple smaller stones. Patients having gallstones greater than 3 cm have ten times greater risk of developing gallbladder cancer. It is presumed that the large gallstones have been present for a long period of time, causing chronic irritation of the gallbladder wall and thus predisposing it to the development of carcinoma.

Individuals with a choledochal cyst may develop carcinoma throughout the biliary tree, but most tumors arise in the gallbladder. The chance of developing an associated gallbladder or bile duct cancer increases for women beginning at age 40. in their 70s and 80s the ratio of incidence for men to women is about one to three. Recent studies have suggested that an anomalous pancreatobiliary duct junction is associated with an increased incidence of gallbladder cancer in individuals with a choledochal cyst, a congenital cystic dilation of the biliary tree. This common channel abnormality between the common bile duct and pancreatic duct allows reflux of pancreatic juice into the biliary tree. The question still remains whether it is the regurgitation of pancreatic juice or the relation ship of the abnormal junction to bile stasis and the subsequent retention of carcinogens within the biliary tree that causes gallbladder cancer. Further , animal studies have suggested that azotoluence and nitrosamines can cause gallbladder cancer, and an association between gallbladder cancer and obesity and estrogens has been suggested in epidemiological studies. Recent studies, however, have failed to validate the previously held concept that certain industrial carcinogens are linked to gallbladder cancer problems.

Typhoid carries have an increased risk of gallbladder and bile duct cancer. The higher incidence of gallbladder cancer in chronic typhoid carriers is also thought to result from chronic irritation and degradation of bile acids.

The gallbladder attack occurs in episodes from weeks, months and even years, for several hours and is usually triggered by eating foods high in fat. Other partners include gas pains, nausea and vomiting.

People described it as a pain upper right side of the abdomen to the chest, and some even sometimes right shoulder to back down.

The attack may last for minutes or hours and accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

The person suffers greatly and no relief.

The gallbladder is a pear-shaped pouch located under the liver.

It’s full of bile, which expelled into the intestines to help digestion. 80% of the time do not cause any damage and go unnoticed, but sometimes to contract the gall bladder to expel bile, one estimate leaks and becomes trapped in the hole that leads to the liver and small intestine.

If the pain is severe and persistent, may indicate the presence of gallstones. Apart from physical examination, abdominal ultrasound will confirm or rule out the diagnosis.

Episodes of pain, moderate to severe, mainly in the upper abdomen, right side under the ribs and stretched to the back, may be due to the presence of gallstones.

When the output of this organ is obstructed, it contracts to remove the obstacle and in doing so, he feels a sharp pain known as biliary colic or gallbladder attack, which can occur for weeks or even years.

This can happen because the bile produced in the liver, is stored and concentrated in the gallbladder, where it is discharged into the small intestine to participate in the digestion of food. In some people, cholesterol, a component of bile, are present in excess and during their stay in the gallbladder, precipitated as crystals, forming that cluster calculations. In a minority of cases of biliary colic are not calculations, but a sand composed Microcalculators bile and cholesterol crystals.

“When the stone moves toward the gallbladder removal and is struck there, it contracts to try to overcome the obstacle. This translates into a sharp pain in his stomach and right side under the ribs, which are sometimes, extends to the right shoulder blade.

Food Used To Prevent Stone Formation:

Many vegetables like soybeans, a little alcohol, olive oil etc.

Foods that can induce an attack of gallstones: Coffee, sugar is in that moment when it causes pain.

The gallbladder problems attack ends when calculating returns to the gallbladder.

However, there may be serious complications, including inflammation of the gallbladder, in which case it is necessary operate to remove the stone and the gallbladder with him.

Gallstones come with age, most often affect women, especially obese, and are often run in families.

Some people are more prone to gallstones.

But there is no doubt that diet is a key factor.

What you eat may be involved in stone formation by increasing or decreasing the degree of saturation cholesterol in bile, the main cause of this evil.

Some foods provide more “detergent” to dissolve continuously cholesterol.

The gallbladder diet also helps to regulate & contractions that cause painful attacks.

Gallstones can be cured in various of ways ranging from drugs to surgery to watchful waiting. Watchful waiting, that is observation of signs over time without active therapy, is a tolerable option for people whose gallstones are identified incidentally (generally by ultrasound performed for another reason). Since women with asymptomatic gallstones run only a twenty percent danger of having future outbreaks of infected gallbladder or gallstone pain, the side effects and risks of drug or surgery treatment are generally not worth understanding.

Some patients with only a single gallbladder attack may also like to wait and watch, since there is an eighty percent possibility that signs will nor recur over the next five years. A patient who is intending a pregnancy in near future, nevertheless, will have higher odds of recurrence and must discuss cure with her physician. For such patients, as well as women with repeating symptoms , the most effective approach is surgical gallbladder removal. Technically known as cholecystectomy, this process is one of the most normal surgery performed on women, with. Until recently the surgery was performed by opening up the abdomen, but it is now more and more commonly performed through a laparoscopy- which involves a much smaller incision just above or below the navel.

Hospitalization, recovery and pain are much shorter with laparoscopic operation. Even though damages to the bile duct are slightly more common, the dangers are minimal in the hands of a good surgeon. In about five percent of operations, complications such as bleeding issues make it essential to resort to the more conventional surgeries.

If gallstones are clogging the bile ducts, they are normally taken off with the help of an endoscope, an illuminated optical instrument the can reach into the duct. Often times surgical endoscopy is performed in lieu of gallbladder removal in elder people or in patients for whom operation would be too risky.

If gallstones are comparatively small, or if there is only a single moderately sized stone, there may be less invasive options. One chance is taking a medicine named ursodiol, a naturally happening bile acid that aids dissolve cholesterol and if the bile ducts are clear of stones. If these conditions are met, ursodiol thereapy seems to function in about 3 thirds of patients. Side effects mainly diarrhea are comparatively exceptional. Ursodiol pills can take up to two years to work, and over that time the size of the stones has to be regularly monitored by ultrasound.

Other medicines that diffuse cholesterol gallstones are under research. One of the most promising is a solvent called methyl tert butyl ether. This substance can dissolve stones of any size and number if injected directly into the gallbladder under the guidance of ultrasound. Because methyl tert butyl either is also a powerful and flammable solvent, it can damage surrounding tissues; thus delivery of the material is difficult.

Recently it has become possible to couple drug therapy with a technique called lithotripsy. This technique uses high energy shock waves from outside the body to fragment the stones into pieces small enough to dissolve more readily or to pass through the bile duct and out of the body. The procedure usually requires only a day or two of hospitalization and if successful, greatly speeds up the time it takes to relieve symptoms. After the gallstones are gone, ursodiol treatments must be continued for 3 months.

Gallstones are irregularly assembled small sphere like structures made basically of bile salt and cholesterol; their presence in the gallbladder is known as cholelithiasis. Scientists don´t know what provokes them to advance. Small gallstones normally assemble and pass from the gallbladder into the small intestine without awareness or incident of their presence. The majority of these stones are identified during ultrasound done for other purposes or abdominal Xrays. Gallstones are not harmful unless they block one of the bile ducts, in which state they can provoke a gallbladder pain, infection and inflammation at the site of the blockage and can provoke the pancreas to become inflamed. Gallbladder pain normally is on the right side of the upper abdomen, though can move to the right shoulder and to the left upper abdomen. Gallstones that shut the pancreatic duct amidst the pancreas and the liver, because of the duct´s location on the upper part of the abdomen, generally shown to be the resource of gallbladder pain feared to be heart attack.

Gallstones that cause asymptomatic require no cure. Obstructive stones normally need to be clinically taken off to relieve pain and stop infection from advancing at the side of the blockage. ERCP often times allows the surgeon to spot and remove a gallstone that has become lodged in the normal bile duct for more extensive surgery. When ultrasound shows various gallstones are present, the suggested treatment generally is surgical removal of the gallbladder. Medicines to diffuse gallstones are attainable, though are effective and appropriate only in about a third of men who have gallstones. The most frequently prescribed medicine is ursodeoxxycholic acid; therapy takes one two years and works only on small gallstones. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, in which high energy ultrasound waves target the gallstone to break it into small fragments, is an option in certain conditions where there is a single, small stone.

Gallstones are less common in men than in women, though are more likely to advance in men who have diabetes, have coronary artery disease, or who take either of the lipid lowering medications gemfibrozil or clofibrate, as these medications decrease blood cholesterol by increasing the cholesterol content of the bile. Men who are obese or who lose more than 20 percent of their body weight by following a very low fat, low calorie diet for longer than three months have increased risk of gallstones as well; as many as a third of men who undergo gastric reduction surgery for weight loss because of extreme obesity develop gallstones within a few years of having had the surgery. Liver disease particularly chronic cirrhosis also increases the risk for gallstones. There also are correlations between cigarette smoking and gall bladder disease and between gallbladder disease and heart disease. Some gallbladder disease develops without the presence of gallstones and, when it occurs in men, is most common in the middle age. The gallbladder may become inflamed following the passage of a gallstones or for no apparent reason. This condition is called cholecystitis.

Many people think the gallbladder is an insignificant and dispensable organ. While it is true that you can survive without your gallbladder, once it is removed, your body must work harder to digest fats and remove cholesterol from the body. Having your gallbladder removed because you have been eating too much saturated fat and cholesterol (which creates gallstones) is like removing the engine from your car because you have been using the worng kind of gas. The ten day gallbladder detox gives your gallbladder the fuel it needs to restore balance and prevent gallstones.

The gallbladder is a small hollow, pear shaped organ that stores and concentrates bile an essential liquid for digestion. Bile, which is continually secreted by the liver and stored in the gallbladder, emulsifies fats and neutralizes the acids in foods that are partly digested.

When you consume too much saturated fat, substances in bile crystalize in the gallbladder and form gallstones, or small hard substances that may be as small as grain of sand or as large as golf ball, called gallstones. Your liver and gallbladder were designed to work together to digest fats. When your gallbladder is removed, your liver must work harder to digest fats. If you continue eat a diet high in saturated fats and low in fiber, you may have a higher risk of developing heart disease and stroke.

Cleanse your gallbladder by going on a vegetarian or vegan diet to reduce your intake of cholesterol.

Drink at least eight glasses of water a day to facilitate digestion and dilute toxic substances in food.

Substitute heart healthy plant based oils like canola oil, olive oil and sesame oil for butter, which contains saturated fat and cholesterol and margarine which contain dangerous trans fats.

Replace fatty meats like burgers and steak with cold water fish that is high in omega 3 fatty acids, including tuna, herring, mackerel, trout, and halibut.

Eliminate processed and refined foods from your diet. They are high in saturated fats, trans fats, and cholesterol.

Consume cleansing vegetable juices made from beets, beet greens, cucumbers celery and carrots.

Eat plenty of fresh garlic, which has a cleansing effect on the liver.

Drink lemon diluted with warm water in the morning to help cleanse the gallbladder.

Eat cruciferous veggies, including cabbage, kale, brussels sprouts, and broccoli. They are high in fiber and help cleanse the gallbladder by promoting regularity.

Consume eggs in moderation. Consume too many eggs may aggravate gallbladder disease.

Do not avoid fats entirely. Fat free and low fat diets can also cause gallstones, so consume heart healthy oils in moderation.

As well as cleansing your gallbladder , this diet will help you lower your LDL bad cholesterol, lose weight, and reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.
